My MSN Live Messenger has been crashing my computer everytime I try to log on.
First it happened to my desktop and then my laptop. Re-installing or updating the messenger did not seem to solve the problem and it seems to happen randomly.
So I tried this solution.
WARNING: Messing with your registry can do some serious damage. So always be careful and back up.
1. Use “run” in the start menu
2. Type “regedit”
3. Open “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger”
4. Right mouse click on the key and export it to a folder (this is a back up)
4. Delete the folder called MSN Messenger
5. After this MSN Messenger Live will login as normal.
You will loose some of your customizations when you do this. So do take note.
My MSN Messenger works ok now. Cheers!

Google, Yahoo and MSN.com (and many others like before) have been dominating the search markets.
But how often are the search results close to what you are looking for or even relevant?
A group of former Google employees are setting up their own search engine called Cuil.com (pronouced “cool”). Anna Patterson was one of the main programmers who helped design and build the search giant’s system, including the indexing process.
I tried to go in today but they need to upgrade their servers as the capacity had overloaded already.
If this new search engine has legs, I think it will erode Yahoo and MSN’s market share more than Google’s. Only time will tell.
UPDATE: It seems after I posted this entry, I was able to try out the search engine.
Ok.. well, I’m not sure about how relevant the search results are.. but I got this feeling its very skewed to US based entries for now.. maybe after a longer time, the engine will include .sg based sites more.
The results are not your usual scroll down display manner, they are more column based. Too early for me to say if this is my preferred method of displaying the results.. but it does look different.
